My story
Years in the hospitality industry showed me the value of community. I experienced how being surrounded by great people can transform any situation from a drag to a party! Connecting with people and sharing stories quickly became one of my favourite things.
However, like most of the people I saw around me, I worked hard but counted down the hours till my day was finished. To say I was overwhelmed would be a vast understatement. I was physically and mentally exhausted, experiencing more health issues than was natural for someone my age and was constantly bouncing between anxiety and depression. In a desperate search to no longer feel this way, I was led to Vedic meditation.
Despite my initial doubts and skepticism of meditation, I began to notice undeniable changes in all aspects of my life. Not only did my physical symptoms decrease but my relationships improved, I no longer felt ruled by my thoughts and I could find joy in the mundane tasks that used to bring on unnecessary panic.
I then began to work closely with my teacher Laura Poole, supporting her teaching and community building. The Vedic wisdom alongside the wonderful people I met and came to know as dear friends took my transformation to a whole new level. Although I didn’t know it at the time, my training as a teacher had begun.
I knew that if it was possible for me to go through such a dramatic shift - in the way I saw the world and my place in it - then it was possible for anyone to do it! I saw that what you need is a practice that you love doing every day, an embodied teacher who’s there to empower you and a fun, loving community to support you through the highs and lows of becoming your real self again.
That’s why I now teach Vedic meditation and I look forward to sharing, sitting and laughing with you as we continue to support and uplift each other on this wild journey of life!
